Bengaluru: The Telangana special task police have arrested a Bengaluru based astrologer on charge of looting Rs 1.2 Crores in Bangalore on Thursday late evening.
The arrested is Shivakumar Swamiji (47), a native of Bengaluru rural district.
According to police sources, Shivakumar was called to perform special pooja rites in Hyderabad by a businessman to set right his financial crunch. After performing special pooja, the swami distributed ‘prasada’ induced with sedatives and looted Rs 1.2 crores of hard cash after family members crashed to bed under the influence of chemical. The hard cash was on demand kept in front of the worshiping idols in the residence of the Businessman, called Mahesh Reddy.
Acting on the complaint Telangana police arrested Shivakumar and taken him to custody with Karnataka police department’s consent.
