Bengaluru: The Indiranagar police have arrested four members of a notorious Tamil Nadu-based gang involved in breaking into cars and stealing laptops in Bengaluru. The suspects, identified as Senthil (50), Murali (35), Murthy (35), and John (40), are residents of Ramji Nagar in Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu.

Gang’s Modus Operandi
According to the police, the gang has a history of targeting vehicles parked in residential areas, especially in dimly lit spots. Senthil, Murali, and Murthy would visit Bengaluru, identify cars with valuables inside, and break the windows using sharp objects to steal items like laptops. After the thefts, they would return to Tamil Nadu and hand over the stolen goods to John, who was responsible for disposing of them and collecting the proceeds.

Recent Arrest and Background
The arrests were made after the gang was caught on CCTV footage breaking into cars parked on Indiranagar 100 Feet Road on August 22. The footage, shared by a victim on X (formerly Twitter), went viral on social media, prompting the police to take swift action.

This is not the first time the trio has been apprehended. They had been arrested in August for similar crimes but were released on bail. Despite their previous arrests, they continued their criminal activities until their recent capture.

Police Investigation
An investigator revealed that the gang would check cars for valuables by flashing a light inside before breaking the glass and fleeing with the stolen items. The police are now investigating whether the gang was involved in other thefts in the city and are working to recover the stolen laptops and other valuables.

The arrest of these individuals marks a significant step in curbing the activities of car break-in gangs in Bengaluru, and the police are urging residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity in their areas.
