Bengaluru: On-going Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) investigation into the Transfer of Development Rights (TDR) has revealed that several important documents related to the TDR to the individuals and companies are not available with the BBMP. These files are either misplaced or destroyed as they allegedly involve a lot of corruption.
Even though BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad rejected the allegations that the TDR files are missing and his office is ready to provide all the documents, sources in the BBMP has a different version.
According to the sources, ACB, which sought the 19 files related to Bhattarahalli-TC palya road widening works TDR received just 11 files. Rest of the eight files have allegedly gone missing. Out of two files sought in connection with another case, just one has been handed over to the ACB.
It can be recalled that the BBMP introduced the TDR system in the year 2005 to bring down the cost of various infrastructure projects, but now it has turned into a major scam in the BBMP.
