Bengaluru: The state government, which started the teachers’ transfer process on May 24 has again decided to postpone the process. As per the original schedule, the transfer process was supposed to be completed by September 16.

Newly appointed primary and secondary education minister S Suresh Kumar has made this announcement and clarified that the transfer process will be taken after making minor changes in the existing rules.

According to the sources, a section of teachers who expected to move from A zone (city) to C zone (rural) under the compulsory transfer scheme is blocking the transfer process at every stage. “For the benefit of a section of teachers, over 95,000 teaches are put to trouble,” explained an officer from the DPI.

It can be recalled that the DPI had taken up the transfer process of teachers after the gap of three years. At least 4% cap has been fixed for the transfer, but even three months after the first notification, the department is not able to complete the process.
