Bengaluru: The much awaited Cabinet reshuffle in the State took place on Sunday which saw Chief Minister Siddaramaiah sack 14 ministers and induct 13 members into his Council of Ministry.
The new portfolios for the ministers are as follows:
Kagodu Thimappa – Revenue
Ramesh Kumar – Health and Family Welfare
M R Seetharam – Planning and Statistics
U T Khader – Food and Civil Supplies
Santhosh Lad – Labour
Tanveer Sait – Higher Education and WAKF
H Y Meti – Excise
Basavraj Rayareddy – Primary and Secondary Education
Priyank Kharge – It & BT and Tourism
Rudrappa Lamani – Textiles and Muzrai
Pramod Madhvaraj – Fisheries and Ports
Ramesh Jarkiholi – Small Industries
Eshwar Khandre – Muncipal Administration
S S Mallikarjun – Sports and Youth Affairs
Roshan Baig – Urban Development
T B Jayachandra – Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Minor Irrigation
As per latest reports Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is said to have elevated two junior ministers, Krishna Byre Gowda and Sharan Prakash Patil, to Cabinet rank on Monday.
The Congress party has accommodated Dinesh Gundu Rao, who was dropped from the ministry, by giving him the post of the party’s state unit working president.
Power minister DK Shivakumar is still tipped to take over as party president and Rao will work under him.
