Bengaluru: State IT and BT and Deputy Chief Minister Dr Ashwath Narayan has said that the state government has decided to present all the literary articles and items related to Kannada literature, art and culture, digitally.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, December 18, he said, “Bengaluru is at the forefront of Information Technology (IT) and Biotechnology. Startups which had begun a decade ago have excelled. Around 4000 startups are currently present in the city and are doing well and in the future, we will support many of such companies. The government is ready to establish the Karnataka Technology Development Board with the help of several companies and industries.”
“The government will provide financial assistance to those who wish to research and innovate in the field of technology. For this, the Karnataka Research Centre will be established and research funds will be allotted,” he added.
Lauding the contribution of the state towards the tax collection in the country, the minister said, “Karnataka stands highest in terms of Corporate Tax share and it contributes to about 8 percent to the GDP. Bengaluru alone contributes about 65 percent of the tax in the country.”
Meanwhile, he appreciated the women entrepreneurs and said that Bengaluru stands first in terms of women entrepreneurs in the whole of Asia and the contribution of the city in this regard is 10 percent.
