Bengaluru: Tejaswini Ananthkumar, wife of former Union minister late Ananth Kumar, launched a campaign for BJP candidate Tejasvi Surya in the Bengaluru South Lok Sabha constituency. On Friday, she hit the campaign trail in Chikpet and the surrounding areas with her supporters.
According to sources in the BJP, Tejaswini, who was supposed to start campaigning from April 8, started meeting activists on Friday morning and launched the campaign by afternoon. She visited several areas in Chikpet and sought votes for the BJP’s candidate.
Later in the day, she attended an event organised by the Jana Mana organisation in Jayanagar, where she stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah changed the course of politics in the entire country by creating new standards. She also stated that it is Modi who brought respect for the country from across the world.
