Bengaluru: Rains continue to batter certain districts in the state, the worst being in Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru and Hassan. Taking this into cognisance the Chikkamagaluru district administration has placed a temporary ban on entry to Mullayyanagiri and Bababudangiri.

Landslides continue to occur in the Charmadi Ghats, due to which the roads are expected to be closed for a few more days.

A team of 40 soldiers have been pressed into service in the Charmadi Ghat section to rescue villagers residing deep in the forests.

Meanwhile, the vehicular movement has been banned in the Shiradi Ghats as well, following multiple landslides reported on Saturday night. This means that Bengaluru has been partially disconnected from the coastal Dakshina Kannada district.
