Bengaluru: A 52-year-old realtor from Hubballi, V Govindappa, filed a complaint with Upparpet police after four mag wheels were stolen from his compact SUV parked outside a hotel in Gandhinagar early Sunday.

Govindappa, who had borrowed the SUV from his family in Bengaluru, had parked it on 2nd Main Road before heading to his hotel room. The theft came to light the next morning.

Interestingly, a 15-year-old boy staying at the hotel recorded the incident, assuming the miscreants were changing the tyres. His brother later handed over the video to the police.

CCTV footage revealed that three individuals arrived in a Toyota Innova, swiftly removed the wheels, and placed stones in their place. The stolen wheels are valued at ₹96,000. Police are now investigating, using the registration number of the Innova captured on camera.
