Bengaluru: The Vidhana Soudha police have arrested two people for allegedly targeting V S Ugrappa, chairman, Legislature Committee on Crimes against Women and Children, by sending him death threats on Facebook.
The police have nabbed Arun Kumar D Hegde (50), who owns a UPS Battery Service Centre at Durgigudi, Shivamogga, and Pradeep Kumar (35), a guest lecturer at a college in Davangere. The police have produced the arrested people in the court which remanded them to judicial custody.

It may be recalled on Friday, Ugrappa had filed a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha police station that the group had issued him a death threat.

It was said that Ugrappa had commented that Raghaveshwara Bharati of Ramachandrapura Mutt should decide whether to continue as mutt seer in view of some allegations made by some people against him. Ugrappa happened to question the police for the delay in filing the charge-sheet against the seer if they have sufficient material to prove the allegations.
