Chikkamagaluru: Three officials stand suspended by the state general forest officer for blackmailing and threatening DFO.

The suspension order was issued here on March 27 against Muthodi Forest Officer M P Santhosh Kumar, Sayyad Khadir and Chikkamagaluru Forest Guard U K Pradeep.

It is alleged that the three officers had abetted a semi-naked protest for two days infront of DFO Chandranna’s office on March 6 and 7. There are allegations that DFO Chandranna persecutes his subordinates.

It is learnt that the employees were mislead by the three officers. The trio had threatened Chandranna through phone call and also blackmailed him. The calls were recorded and Chandranna had written to the department head to seek permission to register a police complaint against the three officers.

In the suspension order, the department has condemned the protest held by the forest staff despite forest fires in most of the places in Chikkamagaluru.
