BENGALURU :A three-story residential building near Kamalanagar 3rd Main Road faces imminent collapse, leading authorities to evacuate all residents, as confirmed by Zonal Commissioner Archana.

The 25-year-old structure has sustained significant foundation damage, with around 20% of the foundation wall already collapsed in the Kamala Nagar area of Mahalakshmipur Assembly Constituency, Western Zone. Clearing operations are set to begin on Friday.

Officials attribute the building’s compromised stability to water seepage from a nearby secondary water channel, which has undermined both the water sump and foundation wall. “The foundation has been severely compromised due to water infiltration,” explained Commissioner Archana.

The building contains five rental units, all of which have been vacated. Three families have secured temporary accommodation with relatives, while the remaining two families are in emergency shelters—one at Ambedkar Bhavan and the other at a local temple. Local authorities are providing food and drinking water for those displaced.

Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as preparations for clearing operations continue.
