Bengaluru: BJP core committee which met on Monday late night decided to give MLC tickets for three turncoat leaders i.e. AH Vishwanath, R Shankar, and MTB Nagaraj. However, the party parliamentary committee is expected to make a final decision.
The meeting was attended by party state unit president Nalin Kumar Kateel and other leaders.
According to the sources, BJP state leaders discussed the ticket distribution parameters. Party has the numbers to win four seats.
“R Shankar who was a forest minister in the HD Kumaraswamy led Congress-JDS coalition government and had later joined BJP will get MLC ticket for a sure as he sacrificed the Ranebennur seat for the BJP leader. The fate of other candidates will be decided at New Delhi,” said BJP leaders who participated in the meeting.
Meanwhile, JDS leader, former CM HD Kumaraswamy informed that party will finalise its candidate on Wednesday. JDS leaders who met on Monday authorised Kumaraswamy to take a decision on the party candidate.
Congress leaders are yet to meet and finalise candidates as KPCC president DK Shivakumar was busy with his family function.
