Bengaluru: In a rather interesting move, the BBMP has made tossing food items on roadsides a punishable offence.
Bengaluru has been witnessing some gruesome canine attack episodes and in a bid find a solution to the same, the BBMP authorities have made it clear that any individual found tossing food items will be penalized.
All these days throwing and dumping the garbage on the roadside was a punishable offence in the city.
BBMP Commissioner N Manjunath Prasad issued a warning with regard this as it attracts stray animals. According to an order issued by his office, henceforth if anyone is found throwing the food items on the roadside, the BBMP will initiate action against them.
Manjunath Prasad requested the citizens to alert the Pourakarmikas if they find food items on the roadside. “Stray dog menace is increasing. One of the reasons for this menace is the availability of food on the roadside. So this decision was taken,” he said.
