A one-and-a-half-year-old girl is battling for her life after falling from the first floor of a residential building in Nayandahalli, West Bengaluru, police said.

The incident occurred on Monday and was captured on CCTV. According to initial reports, the toddler was playing inside the house when she reportedly wandered out through the main door and accidentally fell.

Child sustains critical injuries

The child suffered severe head injuries in the fall and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by neighbours. She is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU), where doctors are closely monitoring her condition.

Mother faints in shock

At the time of the incident, the child’s mother was in the kitchen boiling milk. Upon seeing her injured daughter on the road, she reportedly fainted due to shock. Residents in the area quickly gathered and extended help, ensuring the child received urgent medical attention.

Police launch investigation

The Chandra Layout Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage as part of the inquiry.
