Bengaluru: In a freak incident, a four-year-old girl died on the spot when an iron gate fell on her on Thursday, April 11 evening in Tyagarajanagar of the city.
The deceased toddler has been identified as Kruthi.
Kruthi and her sister Dhruthi were playing on the gate when the incident occurred. According to police, the girl sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to a local nursing home, where she was declared brought dead.
Police also said that the house was constructed recently and belonged to one Manjunath. “The compound wall collapsed a few days ago due to the sub-standard work on the house. Without repairing it, the gate was fixed, which is why this incident occurred. We have registered a case under IPC section 304 A,” said the police.
