Traffic fine: Over Rs.1 crores collected in a week in the city

Bengaluru: The city police collected Rs. 1.10 crores in last one week from the traffic rule violators. Highest was recorded between Tuesday 10 am and Wednesday 10 am with police collecting Rs. Rs. 42.63 lakhs.

According to the traffic police, the highest amount has been collected for violations such as triple riding, driving without a seat belt, signal jumping, talking over mobile while driving and riding without a helmet.
Drunk drivers are paying huge sum. On Tuesday night a person paid Rs.15,000 as fine after he was found driving in an inebriated state, that without DL. Even though the person tried to threaten the police talking about his contacts, police didn’t budge, said sources.
