A tragic accident unfolded in Bengaluru’s Koramangala area on Wednesday when a tree, uprooted by strong winds, crashed onto two men riding a motorcycle. One man lost his life, while the other sustained serious injuries.

CCTV footage captured the chilling moment as the massive tree collapsed without warning, striking the moving bike and hurling both rider and pillion to the ground.

Passersby rushed the injured to St. John’s Hospital. Sadly, the rider succumbed to his injuries, while the pillion passenger remains under medical care.

The Indian Meteorological Department had issued an alert for light to moderate showers accompanied by gusty winds in the city. The weather conditions led to waterlogging in several areas and widespread disruption.

Numerous trees have been reported fallen across Bengaluru, worsening traffic congestion and posing further safety risks.
