Tragic Death in Hassan: Man Found Dead After Disappearance

In a heartbreaking incident, Pramod (35), a resident of Sathyamangala Badavane in Hassan, was discovered lifeless near Shettihalli Gaddekoppalu village in Alur Taluk. A case has been registered under UDR No. 01/2025, with suspicion of suicide.

Pramod, who had been married for seven years to S.R. Nanditha of Hemavathi Nagar, Hassan, had been enduring marital issues for some time, which had caused significant emotional strain. His father, Jagadeesha G.R., shared that Pramod had returned to his parental home 25 days before the incident, complaining of back pain and seeking medical attention.

On the evening of December 28, 2024, around 6:30 PM, Pramod informed his mother, Chinnamma, that he was stepping out for a walk on his motorcycle. However, he never returned home.

A missing person report (CR 263/2024) was lodged at Hassan Town Police Station the next day, December 29, 2024. His family later discovered his abandoned motorcycle near Shettihalli Bridge, confirming it was Pramod’s. Searches in the area commenced immediately.

On January 1, 2025, around 6:00 AM, Pramod’s body was found floating near the bridge. His father recognized him by his clothing. The Alur Police were notified, and the body was sent to Hassan Government Hospital for postmortem.

The family attributes Pramod’s tragic death to the ongoing marital disputes, leading to mental distress, which may have contributed to his possible suicide. Investigations continue.
