Bengaluru witnessed two unfortunate deaths over the weekend in separate incidents. In Chamarajpet, a 34-year-old stenographer working with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), S. Nandini, was found hanging in her home late Sunday night. A mother of two, Nandini had been married to private-sector employee Srikant for nine years. Authorities reported that she did not leave behind a suicide note, leaving the reason for her tragic decision unclear. Her father, in a written statement, expressed no suspicion of foul play and did not hold anyone responsible. The incident came to light when her husband returned home to find her, while their children were asleep in another room.
In another incident in Gangammanagudi, a 22-year-old daily-wage laborer, Nagaraj, was found dead inside a drain. Originally from Raichur district, he was reportedly walking home when he accidentally fell. While police believe he lost balance, some locals claim he was being chased and bitten by stray dogs, which led to the fatal fall.
Authorities are investigating both cases while residents have raised concerns over street safety, mental health awareness, and stray dog management.
