Bengaluru: A team led by K T Halaswamy, joint commissioner (transport) seized 22 schools vehicles for violating the various safety guidelines issued by the state government.
According to Halaswamy, a total number of 100 school vehicles were inspected in the day-long drive. Those vehicles which were found violating the rules were seized and the students were provided with alternative vehicles.
“These vehicles were violating the safety guidelines. There were no first aid kits, they had unscientifically installed LPG cylinders etc. So we seized them,” he informed and added that the department will continue its drive across the city in coming days too. “The parents also must ensure that their children are transported in safe vehicles,” he urged.
