Bengaluru: The State Transport Department has decided to expand the ambit of online services to more commonly sought services including renewal of the LL, DL, minor changes in the DL, and LL, issuing of international DL, etc.
This is the brainchild of Department Principal Secretary Rajendra Kataria. He said that with the support and guidance of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai these initiatives have been taken up.
It can be recalled that all these days the public was forced to depend upon the middlemen to get these services. As per the plan, these services will be made available on the online for the applicants. They need not visit the RTOs for the hard copies. As all the documents are linked to Aadhar e-KYC, the beneficiaries will not face any problems.
Further, the Centre’s decision to allow online registration of the vehicles at dealer’s shops now has brought down the pressure on RTOs by half.
