A 29-year-old man sustained critical injuries after a tree branch fell on him in South Bengaluru‘s Hanumanth Nagar early Sunday, police reported.

The victim, Akshay Shivaram, a resident of Srinivasa Nagar, was riding home around 1 am after completing an errand. Near Brahma Chaitanya Mandir, a heavy tree branch suddenly dropped onto him. The impact caused him to lose control of his two-wheeler, leading to a collision with a parked vehicle.

Akshay was immediately rushed to a private hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery. He remains in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), according to police sources.

Officials have obtained a Medico-Legal Case (MLC) report from the hospital and confirmed that further procedures are underway to investigate the incident.
