Bengaluru: In an early morning strike, CCB sleuths raided the residence of actress Ragini Dwivedi at Yalahanka.
A team of six officials are carrying out a search operation at her residence. They seized four smart phones used by Ragini, said sources.
The CCB officers have taken Ragini Dwivedi to the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for interrogation. Ragini Dwivedi was present at her house in Bengaluru during the raid.
Earlier on Thursday, Ragini had sought time till Monday to join the CCB investigation into the drugs racket case that has shook Sandalwood. However police rejected her request.
It may be recalled that Ragini was summoned by the CCB on September 3, but she had sent her advocates to appear before the officers.
She clarified in a tweet that she received the summons at a short notice and hence could not appear personally.
Since she had changed her mobile number on September 3, the CCB approached the court for search warrant, which was granted by the court, following which the raid began on Friday morning.
It may be recalled that on August 21, the Narcotics Control Burau had busted a massive drug racket in the state and arrested several peddlers. After this, the names of at least 15 celebrities was linked to the case.
A few days ago, Ragini’s friend Ravi was arrested by the cops. After interrogating Ravi, the CCB officials received information regarding the Kannada actress’s involvement in the drug case.
