Tumakuru: With former prime minister and Janata Dal (S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda contesting from the Tumakuru Lok Sabha, Congress MP S P Muddahanumegowda has stepped out to contest against him, here on Saturday, March 23.

Addressing the media after his supporters’ meet in Hebbur farm house, he said that he would file his nomination from the Congress party on Monday, March 25.

“I am waiting for the B-Form. If I do not receive it from the party’s’ high command, I will speak on it on Monday”, said Muddahanumegowda.

He said, “The state Congress party leaders have told me that they have left their seats for the JDS and that also includes my seat. I have questioned them on this.”

Speaking about his performance as an MP, he said that he had worked for five years without any allegations of corruption and that his party leaders also knew about it. For this reason, he will file his nomination for 2019 Lok Sabha election from the Tumakuru constituency.

Slamming the Congress party leaders, he said, “They fooled me using sugar-coated words about my work as an MP and then they made me a sacrificial goat. For this reason, I will go by the peoples’ wish and fight the elections this time.”
