Tumakuru: Sitting Member of Parliament from the Congress party, S P Muddahanumegowda filed his nomination here on Monday, March 25.
Addressing the media, he said, “I’m from this district and a sitting MP. Why should I contest from Bengaluru North when I’m from this district? I’ll contest from this district only.”
Expressing his confidence, he said he is sure that the party high command will give him the B-Form.
“It doesn’t matter if the high command says ‘yes’ or ‘no’. I have filed my nomination and there is no question of backing off,” he said.
He also added that the state coalition (Congress and Janata Dal (S)) leaders had not discussed the issue of reserving the Tumakuru Lok Sabha seat for the JDS candidate with him.
