Tumakuru: Superintendent of Police Anoop Shetty has reportedly raged against a police staff for allowing state housing department minister V Sommanna’s car inside Gate No. 2 of the Siddaganga Mutt.

Tight multi-layer security arrangements were made for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the Siddaganga Mutt, as per his Tumakuru visit programme schedule.

Amidst this, minister V Somanna had entered Gate No. 2 of the Mutt, which came to SP Anoop’s notice. He immediately called the police staff who let the minister’s car inside the gate and lashed out at him.

As per the reports, SP Anoop lambasted the staffer saying, “Several security drills and meetings were conducted for PM Modi’s visit. You don’t even have the courtesy to attend a single meeting and simply waste time. In spite of strict instructions that no car should be allowed from Gate No. 2, you have allowed the car inside. When the orders are in place that no car should be allowed, then that is it. Do you think that we don’t have any other job to do?”

Meanwhile, reacting to this incident, Somanna said, “I had come to have a small meeting with the PM’s Special Protection Group (SPG) security personnel on the arrangements being made. I think this kind of a reaction by the SP was unnecessary.”
