Tumakuru: Senior Congress Leader Shafi Ahmed has lashed out at Congress Leaders for not announcing a candidate for the Tumakuru City Assembly Constituency as the dates for the 2023 general elections have already been fixed.
Speaking at a meeting chaired by Corporators, Block Congress Presidents and Leaders of Tumakuru City Corporation at the residence of Former MLA Rafeeque Ahmed, he said that it was indeed an insult to the voters that the Congress has not yet announced a candidate for Tumakuru City Assembly Constituency in the first list of the Congress party.
Tumakuru City Assembly Constituency is an important constituency for Tumakuru District and Tumakuru City is a Constituency with a large minority vote share of 70,000 and will play an important role in the District elections and the winning candidate should be given a ticket this time, he said.
Former MLA Rafeeque Ahmed, who is a candidate with his hold and good association in 35 wards of Tumakuru City Assembly Constituency, has demanded that a ticket should be announced for him.
