Tumkuru: Five budding shooters from the Vivekananda Rifle Shooting Institute Tumakuru have been selected for the next Olympic training to be held under the Khelo India Scheme of the Government of India.
Under the Khelo India project of the Government of India, the process of selection of rifle shooting, and athletes has been conducted in order to provide necessary training to participate in the Olympic Games held in Los Angeles in 2024.
Purna Chandra, Sadhik Sultan of St. Mary’s School, Batawadi and Veetha Shetty of Sarvodaya Education Institute have been selected among others.
The Khelo India project is being done through the Khelo India scheme to train the athletes selected for the Olympic training camp with free food, accommodation and education at the Khelo India sports hostel, which has been prepared at a cost of Rs. 82 Crore in Vidyanagara, Bangalore.
Five people selected for the camp were felicitated by Vivekananda Rifle Shooting Academy.
