Tumakuru: A mother and her daughter were dead and two others injured in a road accident between a canter lorry and an auto-rickshaw near Bandimane Kalyana Mandapam in Tumakuru city on Saturday.
The deceased have been identified as Shanthalakshmi (30) and daughter Chinmayi (5). The deceased mother and daughter are residents of Kuntamma’s garden in Tumakuru city.
The four were on their way to Tumakuru city in an auto rickshaw after attending a relative’s wedding at Bhimasandra around 11 pm last night. The canter lorry brakes were cut, which was on its way from Tumakuru side, hit an auto rickshaw.
Shanthalakshmi’s son Tanmay and auto driver Girish sustained serious injuries. Tanmay is being treated at Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru. Girish, an autorickshaw driver, is being treated at Tumakuru district hospital. A case has been registered at Tumakuru Traffic Police Station.
