Tumakuru: Kurankote Doddakayappa Anjaneya Swamy Temple, which has its own history since ancient times, has been locked by a priest and he has gone missing.

Srinivas Murthy was working as a priest at Doddakaiyappa Temple in Kurankote in Koratagere Taluk of the District. According to the committee, every year the priests had to offer prayers to the Lord one after the other. However, the priest, Srinivas Murthy, did not hand over the lock of the temple to another priest and locked the temple and went missing.

Siddarajaiah, auditor of Doddakayappa Devasthana Seva Trust, said that the priest is changed every Rama Navami. Similarly, since the time of the priest Srinivas Murthy has elapsed, who was currently performing the pooja, and hence he had to hand over the lock of the temple. Priest Venkatesh should have been allowed to perform the pooja rituals of the Lord in future. However, Srinivas Murthy did not handover lock and keys for no reason and locked the door of the temple during the pooja on Sunday April 2 and went missing.
