Bengaluru: An elderly woman was allegedly gang-raped by two men in an inebriated state in Hulimavu police limits on Friday evening.
The victim, who works as a maid, is said to be a resident of Chikkakamanahalli.
According to police sources, the accused Sathish, a carpenter and his friend took the victim to a remote area on the pretext of sorting out an issue and allegedly gangraped her. The duo managed to escape from the spot after the crime.
The incident came to light when the victim’s husband asked her the reason for reaching home late in the night. She narrated him the entire incident. Later, they approached the police and filed a complaint. Based on the complaint, the accused Sathish was arrested by the Hulimavu police. Both the victim and the accused were subjected to medical tests.
A case has been registered in this regard. Another accused is yet to be arrested.
