Bengaluru witnessed two tragic road accidents involving speeding lorries since Sunday night, resulting in the deaths of two individuals.

The first incident occurred on Kasavanahalli Main Road around 8:30 pm on Sunday when Saraj Pal, a 50-year-old karate coach from Kolkata, was involved in a collision with a lorry while riding his bike back home to Naganathapura. According to the Bellandur Traffic Police, the lorry was on the right side of Pal’s bike and likely grazed the rear of it, causing him to fall. Tragically, the lorry’s wheels ran over him, and he died instantly. The driver fled the scene to avoid public backlash, but the vehicle was later seized, and the owner traced. Police have filed charges for rash driving and negligent death.

In another incident on Monday at 6:15 am, a 49-year-old homemaker, Kesidevi, was struck and killed by a tipper lorry near a pre-university college on Vasanthapura Main Road. The driver, suspected to be under the influence of alcohol, was reportedly driving erratically. He has been detained, and a blood sample has been sent for testing to confirm alcohol levels. A case has been registered against him, and his vehicle has been seized.
