Bengaluru: Two men, originally from Karnataka, have been selected in the United Kingdom local elections from the Conservative party.
According to sources, software engineer, entrepreneur Suresh Gattapura from the Kondenahalli village in Chikkaballapura has been elected to the West Swindon council. He has been elected for the second time.
Gattapura migrated to London in the year 2004. He runs a software company and is engaged in a number of social services in the locality.
Dr Kumar Naik, a surgeon by profession, has been selected to the Haydon Wick council. He is from Kenchapura, a remote village in the Chitradurga district and migrated to London in the year 2002 to pursue an MS degree. He had recently produced a Kannada film “Lambodara” in London.
