Bengaluru: Rebel Congress leaders Ramesh Jarkiholi and Chikkaballapur MLA Dr Sudhakar met Bharatiya Janata Party leader S M Krishna, here on Sunday, May 26.
They were accompanied by former deputy chief minister R Ashok.
Although the political fraternity and the media speculated that both would join the BJP, they have outrightly rejected the argument.
Speaking to the media Ramesh Jarkiholi said that his visit was apolitical and that he had been there only to convey his good wishes on the BJP sweeping the state in Lok Sabha polls by winning 25 seats.
He termed the meet to be a ‘friendly’ meet.
Clarifying the purpose of rebel Congress leaders’ meet with S M Krishna, former DCM R Ashok said, “I had not contacted Sudhakar and Ramesh to have a meet, but was only there to discuss about our party matters.”
