Bengaluru: Two students who were ran over by a BMTC bus on Mysore road of the city have become heroes in death by donating their eyes.
Chandrakant, a I PUC student and SY Yadu Kumar, a II PUC student of BBMP Kasturba college died on the spot. Both of them were working part time.
Chandrakanth who is from Kalaburugi lost his father when he was a kid. His mother, who works as a housemaid was taking care of him. To fund his education he was working in a private company.
Yadu Kumar was funding his education by distributing news papers in the morning hours.
As per the wish of their parents, their eyes were donated to the Minto Eye Bank in the city.
Final rites were held in the evening.
Meanwhile, BMTC has announced Rs. 2 lakh compensation for the family of the deceased students while BBMP announces Rs.10 lakhs compensation each.
The mishap took place as the brake of the bus had failed.
