Bengaluru: A two-year-old girl was run over by a water tanker at Kengeri in Bengaluru on Saturday evening. The police have identified the victim as Keerthana, the daughter of Kommakaraiah, a daily wage worker.
According to the police, Kommakaraiah and his wife had come to Bengaluru a few years ago from Andhra Pradesh. They were working at the construction site of an upcoming project of a prominent builder in the city.
On Saturday evening, while the parents were working, the daughter was playing at the site. The water tanker was reversing after unloading water in the sump of the building. The driver of the vehicle did not see the child behind and ran over.
Police said the girl died on the spot. The police have taken the driver of the vehicle into custody.
