Bengaluru: In a tragic and horrific accident, two persons on a motorcycle were flung off the Electronics City flyover after being hit by a taxi on Saturday afternoon. The accident was caught on a CCTV camera.

The footage shows the bikers fall from a height of at least 40 feet, around 12.45 p.m.

When the motorcycle reached the stretch between Bommanahalli and Garebhavipalaya on the elevated express highway, the cab collided with a private car heading towards Electronics City.

The cab driver lost control and hit the side wall before colliding with the bike. On impact, both the rider and the person riding pillion were thrown off the elevated express way. They fell on the road below.

The police have identified the deceased as real estate agents Mohammad Fakhruddin (37) and Zaheer Hussain (47). They were residents of Neelasandra, police said.

The brothers-in-law were heading from their homes in Neelasandra to meet a relative who had been admitted in Narayana Health Hospital at Bommasandra.

Hussain was riding the bike. He died on the spot. Passers-by rushed Fakhruddin to St. Johns Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries later.

The cab driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot soon after the accident. The police are trying to trace him with the help of documents found in the vehicle.

“We have got in touch with the cab aggregator company to ascertain the identity of the driver,” said the police.
