Bengaluru:  The candidates who took the National Testing Agency’s (NTA) UGC-NET exam for Kannada on Sunday December 26 were surprised to find that the majority of the questions were in Hindi.

According to accounts, 90 of the 100 questions were in Hindi, which led to a lot of confusion.

Following this, the candidates had staged a protest and boycotted the test in several places. The issue went viral on social media, forcing the NTA to issue a public notice postponing the test.

The candidates received notification of the postponement from NTA at around 5.00 pm.

“Due to the technical issues at some of the centres of UGC-NET December 2020 and June 2021 cycle examination, Subject Kannada held on December 26th (Shift 1) in CBT mode, the scheduled examination could not be conducted. NTA has decided to reschedule the examination of these impacted candidates. The revised dates for the rescheduled examination will be uploaded shortly along with the revised admit card of these candidates,” stated the NTA notice.

The candidates have been advised to check the NTA website for examination updates on a regular basis.
