Bengaluru: According to sources, homebuyers have demanded the resignations of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Housing Minister V. Somanna as their several petitions have gone unanswered.

Home buyers appealed to the Chief Minister’s Office to resolve their issues at a meeting on December 18.

They have written petitions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Bommai, Minister Somanna, Home Minister Amit Shah, and District Magistrate J. Manjunath in the last few weeks. However, no response has been received.

After facing several issues with builders, homebuyers visited to K-RERA offices to submit a memorandum. They also sent a memorandum to the CMO on the same day. They said that K-RERA member D. Vishnuvardhana Reddy told them that the authority had suggested to the State Government that a bench be set up to deal with their complaints regarding interest payments to property buyers being delayed. He also urged them to make a formal request to the government to set up the bench.

However, Reddy later clarified that no such proposal has been given to the government.

All complaints related to seeking refunds as well as interest for the period of delay in project completion must be heard and decided by members of the authority by forming single-member benches or by the three-member authority, he noted in a statement.

“No such suggestion has been made to the effect that homebuyers may appeal to the Government of Karnataka to constitute a separate bench/tribunal to deal with complaints seeking interest for delay periods,” it added.
