Bengaluru: The Union Home Ministry has accepted IPS officer K Annamalai’s resignation from the service.

It can be recalled that Annamalai had tendered his resignation on May 28.

He was a 2011 batch IPS officer and served in the state police for over nine years. His stints as the SP of Chikkamagaluru and Udupi are considered the high points in his career. He was then transferred to Bengaluru as the DCP (South), where he introduced a number of reforms in the police department.

It is being said that Annamalai will likely join any ‘Sangh Parivar’ organisation and be nominated to the state Legislative Council.
