
University of Liverpool to Launch First Foreign University Campus in Bengaluru
The University of Liverpool, UK, is set to become Bengaluru’s first foreign university, launching its campus in August 2026 with classes beginning September 2026. The campus will offer degree programmes in game design, computer science, AI, business, finance, and biomedical sciences, mirroring its UK curriculum. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tim Jones highlighted Bengaluru’s strong research ties and existing collaborations with IISc, NIMHANS, and Unilever. The campus aims to host 10,000 students in 10 years, starting with a few hundred. While fees and scholarships are yet to be disclosed, robust internship and placement networks are promised. Meanwhile, Western Sydney University, initially interested in Bengaluru, has opted for Noida instead.
