Bengaluru: Karnataka registered 115 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, May 28, taking the state’s total tally to 2,533.
The returnees from Maharashtra continue to pose a huge challenge to the coastal district of Udupi, which charted the highest number of cases on Thursday with 29 cases.
The scenario is pretty much the same in rest of the district as well where they are witnessing an upward trend in COVID cases with the arrival of the people from other states.
The district-wise break-up is Dakshina Kannada (24), Hassan (13), Bidar (12), Bengaluru Urban (9), Yadagir (7), Chitradurga (6), Haveri (4), Chikamagaluru (3), Kalaburgi (5), Vijayapura (2), Raichur (1).
A total of 53 persons were discharged on Thursday and so far 834 persons have been discharged.
There are 1650 active cases and the total number of fatalities has reached 47 in the state.
