Bengaluru: The ashes of former prime minister AB Vajpayee’s mortal remains will be immersed in all the major rivers of the state including the Cauvery, Kapila, Tunga, Bhadra, Ghataprabha and Nethravathi.
According to the BJP state leaders, the ashes will be taken in a procession to all the major rivers. Later, it will be immersed in the designated spots. The party state leaders will lead the procession.
The belief is that if the ash is immersed in the holy rivers, the soul of the departed person will attain eternal peace.
It can be recalled that the 93-year-old former prime minister passed away on August 16. His final rites were conducted on August 17 in New Delhi.
