Bengaluru: The eagerly anticipated Bengaluru-Madurai Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to commence operations on September 2, the South Western Railway (SWR) has announced. The introduction of this high-speed train marks a significant enhancement in connectivity between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, offering a faster and more comfortable travel option for passengers.
Timings and Schedule
The Vande Bharat Express, identified as train number 20671, will depart from Madurai at 5:15 am and is expected to arrive at Bengaluru Cantonment by 1:00 pm. In the return journey, train number 20672 will leave Bengaluru Cantonment at 1:30 pm and reach Madurai by 9:45 pm.
The train will make stops at several key stations along the route, including KR Puram, Salem, Namakkal, Karur, Thiruchirapalli, and Dindigul in both directions.
Fare Details
The fare for the chair car from Madurai to Bengaluru is set at ₹1,575, while the executive class will cost ₹2,865. For passengers travelling from Bengaluru to Madurai, the chair car fare will be ₹1,740, and the executive class fare will be ₹3,060.
The launch of the Bengaluru-Madurai Vande Bharat Express is expected to offer a faster alternative for travellers on this route, providing a blend of speed, comfort, and modern amenities.
