Bengaluru: A committee headed by Senior IPS Officer Raghavendra Auradkar had submitted a report to the state government in 2016, recommending the increase in salary of the police personnel by 30-35 percent. However, the government is yet to take a decision in this regard.

‘Kannada Chalavali Vatal Paksha’ President Vatal Nagaraj on Thursday, June 13, protested against the delay in the government’s decision regarding the salary hike for police personnel.

Dressed in a police uniform, Vatal Nagaraj, who carried out the protest near Vidhana Soudha, said that a committee headed by Raghavendra Auradkar had submitted a report to the state government in 2016, recommending the increase in salary of the police personnel by 30-35 percent. The state government has not taken any action regarding this and is unnecessarily delaying the decision, he charged.

He also warned of a statewide ‘bandh’ if the government did not approve Auradkar’s report by July 13.
