New Delhi/Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and former railway minister C K Jaffer Sharif has backed the name of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagawath for presidency in a letter written to prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“In my personal view, there is nothing wrong in suggesting his name for presidency. Large nation of ours has different ideologies and Mohan Bhagwath too believes in one such ideology and hence one cannot suspect his personal integrity on patriotism”, Jaffer Sharif noted in the letter.
He went on to add and hoped that, “None would oppose him as a candidate for presidency.”
“Most thinkers and political outfits would accept my opinion with an open mind”, Jaffer Sharif stated.
Shivsena first raised the name of Mohan Bhagwath for presidency few days ago and now Sharif from minority Muslim community airing similar sentiments will add more substance to the prime topic debated, as the elections for presidency are drawing closer.
