In response to alarming reports that agricultural land owned by farmers, as well as properties belonging to temples and ashrams in districts like Vijayapura, have been mistakenly registered as Waqf property in official records (RTC), the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) is urging landowners to thoroughly verify their land documents.
The VHP claims that millions of acres nationwide are under threat of acquisition through the Waqf Board and associated laws. They stress the importance of vigilance among the Hindu community in light of this alleged land acquisition scheme. VHP State Secretary Sharan Pumpwell highlighted the urgency of the situation in a recent press release, stating that if landowners discover any discrepancies in their records, they should promptly report them to district authorities or the VHP.
The VHP has committed to advocating for the reclamation of any land that has been improperly transferred under these circumstances. The organisation believes that such actions not only jeopardise the rights of landowners but also threaten the heritage and identity of the Hindu community.
The situation has raised significant concerns among farmers and community leaders, who fear losing their land to what they perceive as unjust claims. The VHP’s call to action seeks to mobilise support and awareness regarding the issue, encouraging landowners to be proactive in protecting their property rights.
As discussions around land ownership and rights continue, the VHP aims to rally the Hindu community to stand united against any attempts to encroach upon their ancestral lands.
