Video of ambulance stopped for CM’s convoy fake: Seemanth Kumar Singh

Bengaluru: IGP Seemanth Kumar Singh brushed aside reports that CM’s convoy had blocked traffic on Hoskote road and also said that no patient died and the police made necessary arrangements to clear the traffic block in time after the convoy passed. Kumar clarified that the video uploaded on Facebook was fake.

He further clarified that Naveen (32), a resident of Kolar was being taken to the hospital and no woman was travelling in the ambulance during the traffic jam on the busy Hoskote stretch. The driver of the vehicle Dadapeer and the technical assistant Lakshman also confirmed that there was no woman in the ambulance. They said that the obstruction did not last for more than four minutes though Lakshman refused to reveal where his ambulance was stuck.

A video footage on face book went viral where policemen were shown blocking an ambulance to allow CM’s convoy on the busy road.

The IGP said, action will be taken against the person who uploaded the video and the police force follows norms to allow ambulances which carry patients in such situations.

Earlier, the CM had said that he had ordered an enquiry into the incident and asked DG & IGP to probe the matter.
