Bengaluru: A video purported to be from Bengaluru has surfaced in which two youth are seen being assaulted by locals and policemen for allegedly riding rashly and pulling stunts on their scooter on the busy roads.
In the shocking video, the two youth are seen being kicked and even being beaten with a small cricket bat in the presence of a policeman.
The two young men have been identified as Mohammed Shahid (18) and Huzaif, residents of Padarayanapura.
Reportedly, the locals had complained to the police about two youngsters in the area who had been pulling risky stunts on their two-wheelers, risking not only theirs but even the safety of the pedestrians.
Locals alleged that the two were stopped by the police and warned not to pull these dangerous stunts, but as soon as they were let go, they immediately sped away and once again pulled a stunt.
Reportedly, the police caught up to them and began assaulting them. One of the policemen even kicks one of the young men in the face, as seen in the video, while a local brings a small cricket bat and beats them before he is driven away by the other policeman.
Meanwhile, the two youth can be heard apologising and pleading to be let go.
One of the youngsters who was assaulted has alleged it was some other people and not he and his friend who pulled the stunts on the road.
According to reports, senior Bengaluru police officer Dr Bhemshankar Guled informed that the man who assaulted the youngsters with the bat has been detained and the policemen who were at the scene have been identified.
The incident has caused an uproar on social media.
